3/43 Tombchest of William Briscoe (died 1723) and others, 4m west of priest's door to St Michael's Church.

GV II

Tombchest: dated 1723. Ashlar buff sandstone. Rectangular tombchest on chamfered plinth with 2 fielded panels on the long sides, one on the short sides. Cyma-moulded cornice to top slab, the upper surface of which has a long inscription, in a semi-circular headed border, to William Briscoe, his wife, brother and sister-in-law, in good serifed script. Given the similarity to the item 3/44 the chest, apart from the top slab, the remainder may date to c1764.
