Description

41 and 43 Egerton Street are a pair of town houses built between 1829 and 1833, which were converted into flats in the late 20th century. They are constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond and feature a grey slate hipped mansard roof.

No. 41 has a flush 16-pane horned sash window on both the ground and first floors. No. 43 has been modified, featuring a front doorway with four fielded panels and a three-pane overlight in a timber case, with the glazing bars removed from the sashes. Each house includes a 6-pane gabled dormer sash.

On the left side of No. 41, there is a replaced door with six fielded panels set in a glazed screen, flanked by flush 12-pane horned sashes. The first floor has three similar sashes, and the attic storey has three flush 6-pane sashes. The right side of No. 43 is adjacent to an inserted cottage. Both houses have a central chimney.

At the rear, No. 41 has a 16-pane flush sash window on the first floor, while No. 43 features a similar but smaller four-pane sash. Both houses also have a pair of 6-pane gabled dormer sashes. The interiors have not been inspected.
