Description
The conservatory attached to the south front of Hoole Hall is a mid-19th century structure built for the Hamilton family. It features a cast-iron and glass construction with a hipped roof that has a raised center and decorative spikelets along the ridge. The front of the conservatory showcases a 9-bay arcade made up of semi-circular headed arches, with the central three arches projecting beneath a curved roof. Although the interior was not inspected, recent photographs reveal a screen wall to the right of the entrance, which includes three stone round-headed arches that are glazed with iron tracery and have a central pair of half-glazed doors. These doors lead into a stone grotto made of lava. Additionally, there is a tall, quadrant-shaped iron birdcage located in one corner of the interior.
