Description
The ha-ha wall and railings of the west terrace at Hoole Hall were built in the mid-19th century for the Hamilton family. Constructed from rock-faced and ashlar buff sandstone, the wall serves as a retaining structure on the north, west, and south sides of the terrace. It features a battered rock-faced design and ends with squat square corner piers topped with capstones and remnants of plaster urns. The wall is capped with ashlar coping and includes battered stone piers with triangular tops that support two horizontal iron rails held up by three intermediate iron posts. This structure is listed for its group value only.
