Description
Nos. 27 and 29 Hamilton Street are a pair of suburban villas built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of Flemish bond brown brick and feature a hipped grey slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have four windows across the front.
On the ground floor, there is an early 20th-century canted bay window on the left side, alongside two 14-panel doors that have 1-pane overlights. These doors are set within a stucco case that includes paired pilasters on each side and in the centre, as well as a frieze and a dentil cornice. There is also a slightly recessed 12-pane sash window with a stone sill and a cornice lintel.
The first floor features four slightly recessed sash windows. The window above No. 29 has a gauged brick flat arch, while the one above No. 27 is covered as if it has a wedge lintel. Both villas have flush chimneys at their ends. The left side of No. 29 has two window openings on the ground floor and a 12-pane sash window on the first floor. The right side of No. 27 has similar features, but they are not clearly visible. The interiors have not been inspected.
