Description

A row of three suburban villas dating from the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of Flemish bond brown brick with pale brick headers, and have grey slate hipped roofs. Numbers 15 and 17 face onto Hamilton Street, while number 13 fronts to the right. Simple plinths are present, and the front doors are of four fielded panels; the upper panels of the door at number 15 are now glazed and all are set within simple stone cases. The windows are recessed sash windows with shaped stone sills and gauged brick flat arches; number 17 has a 12-pane sash to each side of the entrance, and number 13 has an inserted Edwardian canted bay window with leaded glass above the transom. The first floor windows are all 12-pane sashes. A moulded string course runs along the building, above which is a three-course parapet with a moulded cornice. There are two ridge chimneys and one on the side of number 17, to the left. The right side, which is the front of number 13, has a 12-pane sash, a door within a case, and two 12-pane sashes to the ground floor, and four 12-pane sashes to the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
