Description
Oak Cottage and Bank Farm Cottage are a pair of semi-detached cottages, originally a mid-17th century house that underwent significant alterations in the mid-to-late 19th century. The building is timber-framed with brick infilling and a plain tile roof. It is two storeys high. The front elevation features close studding with angle braces to the left, right, and centre, and consists of two cottages mirroring each other. The left-hand cottage has a three-light casement window to the right, a matching first-floor window above, and a timber-framed gable. A lean-to brick porch is positioned to the left. A central ridge chimney stack is present. All windows on this front have decorative glazing bars forming a honeycomb pattern of hexagons. Originally one 17th-century farmhouse, the building was adapted by the Peckforton estate.
