Description
Beech Lane Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid 17th century, with 19th century additions and alterations. It is constructed of orange English garden wall bond brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys high.
On the farmyard front, the left side contains an early 17th century section with three bays, featuring a projecting plinth topped with chamfered ashlar. The corners of this part are accentuated with quoins. To the left on the ground floor, there is a three-light window with an ashlar surround and chamfered mullions, while a similar window on the right is now blocked. In the centre, there is a larger three-light casement window from the 19th century. The first floor has three ashlar-surrounded chamfered windows, each with 2-light 19th century casements where the original mullions have been removed.
To the right is a later 17th century or early 18th century gabled wing that was extended in the 19th century, and to the left is a single-storey wing with an attic, also from the 19th century. The rear of the farmhouse includes the 19th century addition to the later 17th century or early 18th century wing on the left, and a 19th century lean-to porch located to the right of centre. At the far right, there is a three-light mullioned window with a chamfered ashlar surround at ground floor level, and a similar three-light window on the first floor, which also has the mullions removed.
