Description

Kinderton Hall is a Grade II* listed farmhouse dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a double depth plan and five bays. The entrance consists of a six-panel half-glazed door, which is three panels wide, set within a wide stone ogee moulded doorcase that includes plinth blocks and a keystone. This door is sheltered by a cast iron porch with openwork indented infilling on the cheeks.

The façade is accentuated by a projecting brick plinth and two courses of deep brick bands above the window heads. The windows are ovolo-moulded cross windows with horizontal glazing bars that divide the lower section into two parts. These windows are equipped with stone sills and gauged flat arches featuring carved stone keystones. Narrow blocked windows are positioned on either side of the front door. The eaves are adorned with a plaster cove, and the gables have copings with kneelers. Gable end stacks are present, and the gable windows are two-light casements with glazing bars and segmental arches.

At the rear, two wings complete a "U" shaped plan. Inside, the farmhouse features six-panel and boarded doors, chamfered beams in the kitchen, and cased beams with modest cornices in the lounge and dining room. The first floor has four-panel doors with wide panels at the top and bottom and small square panels side-by-side in the center. A dogleg staircase with turned balusters connects the ground floor to the attic, which has boarded doors.
