Description
The Lodge is a former lodge to Trafford Hall, built in the mid-19th century. It features a rendered exterior, a slate roof, a limewashed chimney stack, and a stone plinth. The building has a cruciform plan with an additional wing at the rear. It is a single-storey structure with gabled single bays. The windows are 2-light timber casements, and above them, there are glazed fans with Gothic tracery and three-centre arched heads, accompanied by similar stone hood moulds. The stone cills are also notable. The front gable window is set in a similarly shaped recess. An added porch is located on the left side. The flat-roofed rear wing has similar window designs. The sides of the bays have blank recesses with hood moulds. The chimney stack is positioned at the centre of the ridge, and the gables are designed as open pediments with moulded cornices.
