Description

This building, originally stables and a loft around 1860, has been converted into dwellings. Constructed of English garden wall bond brown brick with a grey slate roof, it features eight windows across two storeys. A frieze and cornice run along the top of the former carriage entrance. The left side has a gabled porch with a door, a round-arched casement window, and a broken pediment over the gable. A broad, small-pane casement window is located in the former entry, alongside two recessed nine-pane sash windows. A broad window sits within the former carriage entrance, featuring a segmental brick arch and a keystone. A projecting wing with a hipped roof extends to the right. The upper floor contains a recessed nine-pane sash window, a three-by-thirteen-by-three-pane Palladian window, five recessed nine-pane sash windows, and a six-pane sash window. Broken pediment gables adorn the upper section above the Palladian window and the third sash from the right. Three plinthed brick chimneys on the ridge have two, three, and two divided flues respectively. The interior was not inspected at the time of listing. The building holds group value as an example of Victorian stables conversion.
