Description

This is an early 19th-century house, fully restored after 1991. It is constructed of brown brick laid in a Flemish bond pattern on the front elevation, with lined-out plaster to the south end wall. The roof is hipped, covered with slate, and concealed behind a low parapet. The house has two storeys and two bays, standing upon a red sandstone plinth.

The front features a semicircular doorway with a painted stone surround, a radial bar fanlight, and a four-panel door with fielded panels. Flanking the doorway are sash windows with 6 over 6 panes on both floors, set beneath painted wedge lintels and with a sillband at the first-floor level. Ground floor windows have sills. A painted stone eaves cornice is detailed with a Greek key pattern frieze. A single flush chimney is located to the north, and two similar chimneys are present on the south end. The south end of the house incorporates a doorway and a first-floor sash window with 3 over 6 panes. The interior has not been inspected. The property adjoins No.1 Nuns Road.
