Description
White Cottage is a 17th-century cottage constructed with brick-nogged oak small framing. The original thatch has been replaced with corrugated iron. The left gable was rebuilt in the mid-20th century using brick, while the rear was modified in the early 19th century, also in brick. The cottage is two storeys high and features two windows. It has a central axial ridge chimney and a boarded door located just to the left under a pentice porch, indicating a lobby-entrance plan. The windows are leaded casements at both the front and rear. At the time of the survey in August 1984, the cottage was unoccupied. Although the interior was not inspected, it is reported to contain chamfered oak beams, including a notable ceiling structure in one room.
