Description
Povey's Lock and Spillway, located on the Llangollen Canal in Tushingham cum Grindley, was built in 1795 under the supervision of engineer Thomas Telford and has been altered since its construction. The structure features a brick basin with dressed sandstone copings and a concave upper end. It includes a single upper gate and double lower gates, both of which have been replaced with steel. The spillway is also stone-coped. The remaining part of the lock is situated in Wirshall Parish.
