Description
This is a set of six bread ovens, likely dating from the early 18th century, located in the north garden wall of the Old Hall. At the west end of the north wall, there is a section made of handmade red brick featuring two tiers of three rectangular openings, each with segmental brick heads. All of these openings are now blocked. These would have served as entrances to the bread ovens, with one of the lower openings likely functioning as a firebox. The ovens themselves are still present, encased in brick at the rear. While timber-framed houses typically had external ovens, this collection is notably large. The structure is listed for its group value only.
