Description

The Manor House is a farmhouse that likely has origins from the late 16th century, with an exterior dating to the early 18th century and some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of Flemish bond orange brick and features a Welsh slate roof along with three brick chimneys, two located at the gables and one on the ridge. The building has a rectangular plan with an entrance situated behind the stack. It is two stories high with a four-bay front. The windows consist of 12-pane casements on the lower level and 9-pane windows above. The third bay includes a gabled two-storey porch with a semi-circular headed entrance, flanked by small rectangular openings. Behind this porch is a 20th-century board door with glazed panels, and the ceiling retains 16th-century joists. Above the entrance, there is a 9-pane window. Inside, the house has been extensively refurbished, but two heavy ceiling beams, one of which is chamfered, remain, along with the outline of a massive central fireplace that is also visible.
