Description
This is a memorial to a dog, likely from the 18th century, located in the rose garden of the Old Hall. It consists of a large rectangular grey sandstone slab that is set upright within a buff sandstone surround. On the surround, there is a carved statue of a reclining spaniel, which has become quite worn over time. The grey slab features a notably long inscription written in small, well-cut copperplate script. Due to wear, some details of the text are difficult to read.
