Description
Corner House and Sanden Cottage are a pair of cottages built around 1860. They are constructed of Flemish bond orange brick sitting on a blue brick plinth, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring a dogtooth ridge and a central brick chimney. The cottages have a symmetrical front that is two stories high and consists of four bays. A sawtooth brick cornice adorns the top. The end bays feature half-glazed doors set under stone label moulds, while the central bays contain three-light casements with lattice-leaded glazing below and similar two-light casements above in gabled half dormers, all under label moulds. The interior has not been inspected. These cottages were built in the style typical of estate work by the first Marquess of Westminster and were later used as police houses in the 19th century.
