Description
The equestrian statue located south of the canal on the central terrace in Eaton Park was created in 1852 by Raymond Smith for the 2nd Marquis of Westminster. It is made of pale grey stone and stands on a red sandstone plinth. The statue depicts a hunter mounted on a horse that is rearing above a tree trunk and forest foliage, accompanied by three hounds. This statue is one of a pair of large statuary groups, with the other being the group of Stag at Bay.
