Description

The statue of the Norman Bishop Odo, located north-west of the Dragon Fountain in the southern garden of Eaton Hall, is approximately life size and likely dates from around 1810. It was originally part of Eaton Hall as rebuilt by William Porden. The statue is made of stone and has been reused on a pedestal at the north-west corner of the garden, which is attributed to Edwin Lutyens. Currently, Odo has been removed from his pedestal and has a broken crozier, and he has been repositioned near the pool. This statue forms one of a pair with the statue of Joan of Eaton. A photograph of the statue appeared in Country Life on April 20th, 1901.
