Description

Pump Cottages, which include a Post Office and an outbuilding, are a row of three cottages dating from the 17th century that were altered and refurbished in the mid-19th century for the 2nd Marquis of Westminster. The cottages are two storeys high and have a total of four windows. They are constructed of brick, painted white, with a 17th-century oak frame featuring small rectangular brick-nogged panels on the upper storey, particularly on the rear gable of No. 1. The lower storey retains only the corner post and beams at the first floor. Nos. 1 and 3, as well as the lower storey of No. 2, have small-pane cast iron casements. There is a long wing extending to the rear of No. 3. The interior has not been inspected. Additionally, there is a late 19th-century brick outbuilding with a tiled roof associated with No. 1.
