Description
The Old Rectory and Outbuilding is a square house dating from around 1800, which was altered and extended to the north in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brown brick in English garden wall bond and features a hipped grey slate roof. The building has two storeys with three bays on the south and west fronts, showcasing small-pane sash windows beneath label-mould lintels made of sandstone. The north extension rises to 2½ storeys and includes five Gothick cast iron casements set in openings with gauged brick flat arches.
Inside, there is an open-well staircase with a swept mahogany rail supported by square balusters. The doors are six-panel with bolection moulds, and there are simple, likely original, iron grates in the upper rooms. To the north, there is an attached walled yard that includes a former wash-house and baking oven.
