Description
The farm building of Shocklach Hall is a Grade II listed structure located on the north side of Hall Lane in Shocklach. This farm complex is arranged symmetrically around three sides of a farmyard, directly facing Shocklach Hall. It is constructed from brown brick and features a hipped slate roof. The buildings include shippons, stables, a barn, and a cartshed.
Notable architectural features include a semi-circular arched recess at the center of the rear wing, driftways at each corner, and boarded doors, some of which have been altered. Several windows have been replaced, and there are circular pitch-holes for the lofts, with loft vents designed as double crosses. In the center of the yard, there is a concave-sided oval pool with raised kerbs. This impressive group of buildings was designed in conjunction with Shocklach Hall.
