Description

Par Green Hall is an early 17th-century farmhouse, which was later re-faced in brick during the early 19th century. The brickwork is brown, in a Flemish bond pattern with pale headers to the front. Sections of the original timber framing are visible on the rear gable on the right and on the right end, with restoration present. The roof is covered in grey slate. The house has two storeys and originally featured a central portion with two windows, with a cross-wing at each end. A lobby entrance, with a replaced door, is present, backed by a large sandstone ridge chimney. Windows are mostly late 20th-century replacements.

Inside, a staircase has been inserted between the entrance lobby and two inglenooks. The left inglenook is constructed of sandstone with an oak beam and has been altered. The right inglenook is hidden behind a partition. The right-hand room has a quarry tile floor, while the left-hand room has a Minton tile floor. The left room contains a stopped ovolo chamfered oak beam; between a chamfered oak beam and a cased beam in the right room are broad, shallow oak joists, of an early 17th-century type; and between the chamfered beam and the front wall are oak joists of vertical proportions, likely dating to the late 17th century.
