Description
The former font, located 1 metre north of the nave of St Peter's Church, is likely from the early 17th century and made of red sandstone. It features a circular shaft on a moulded base that flares out to an octagonal head. Each side of the head is adorned with a decorative pattern of six arcs, with each intersection ending in a flat trefoil that points inward, set within a small sunken rectangular panel. The top of the font is octagonal and domed, constructed from two stones, and has a shallow octagonal basin. The font stands just over 1 metre high.
