Description
Moor End is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private house. It was built in the late 18th century and has undergone later alterations and an extension. The building features roughcast brick on a stone plinth, with stucco bands, quoins, and dressings. It has a slate roof with lead ridge and guttering, and gable end brick stacks.
The exterior is three stories high with a two-bay front and a two-story canted bay window on the right. The entrance is located in the right gable. The main front has recessed sash windows with glazing bars, stone sills, and lintels. In the center of the ground floor, there is a semicircular headed sash window. There are projecting bands on the first and second floors that return across both gable ends. The second floor features a sunken tablet with a shell and flower motif in the center. An ogee moulded stone eaves cornice adds detail to the roofline. The right gable end has a 20th-century five-panel door with an integral fanlight.
Inside, the house includes six-panel and boarded doors, as well as a closed string staircase with turned balusters and square newels.
