Description
Kinderton Lodge is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features four bays with a gabled "U" shaped plan. The entrance includes a half-glazed four-panel door with lower panels that are moulded, set within a wide panelled doorcase that has flush outer lining and external architraves. This door is sheltered by a lean-to hood supported by curved brackets, which has a central gablet adorned with a truss motif and a finial.
The windows are primarily two-light cross windows with stone sills and cambered arches, with two windows featuring two mullions. Each of the four gables is decorated with barge boards and finials. The south-west wing has five bays of cross windows, while the north-west wing has four bays. The ground floor of the north-west wing features flat arches with keystones.
Inside, the lodge has six-panel doors with small central panels in the Queen Anne style and stop-chamfered beams. There is a straight flight staircase with turned balusters. On the first floor, the doors are four-panel designs with full-width panels at the top and bottom, and small square panels side-by-side in the centre; some of these doors are hung on HL hinges. The interior also features bevelled beams.
