Description
Church Villas and the linked storeshed and domestic offices are a pair of cottages built in 1875 by John Douglas for the 1st Duke of Westminster. They feature brown brick with blue brick banding and patterns. The cottages have hipped red tile roofs with shaped ridge tiles, finials, and a rectangular central chimney. They are asymmetrical and individually designed, standing at 1½ storeys. The left cottage has a dormer gable, while the right cottage has a half-gable that is partly timber-framed. Each cottage has arched oak-framed porches, with the porch on the left cottage at the front and the one on the right cottage at the side. The windows are 3 and 4-light mullioned with rectangular leaded glazing, and both cottages have boarded front and back doors. Inside, there are good 4-panel doors with moulded stiles, muntin, and rails. At the rear of the cottages, there is a long brick outbuilding with a steep tiled roof, connected by walled yards.
