Description
The gate piers at Top Lodge, dating from around 1850, are made of reddish sandstone and have a cross-shaped plan. They feature ovolo mouldings along the chamfers. The overhanging cornices are adorned with voluting on all sides, supporting abaci that display arabesque motifs. Each pier is topped with finials, one of which has a ball terminal while the other has a dropped ball at the side. The gates have been removed.
