Description

The gate piers at Aldersey Lodge date from around 1850 and are constructed of red sandstone ashlar masonry. They are square in shape with ovolo corners and have rebates at the rear for gates. The piers feature projecting cornices and ball finials, although the gates themselves have been removed. These piers originally marked the entrance to the Aldersey Green gates leading to the park of Aldersey Hall, which has since been demolished.
