Description
The Conference Hall at Ingersley Hall, originally built as a coachhouse around 1850 for J U Gaskell, features alterations and additions made to the rear around 1950. Constructed from squared buff sandstone blocks with rock-faced dressings, it has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two stories high with a symmetrical seven-bay front arranged in a 3:1:3 configuration. The central bay projects forward and is topped by a triangular pediment, which includes a tall semi-circular arched opening with an ashlar frieze supported by modillions above. A circular light is set within the pediment. On either side, three-bay semi-circular headed arcades contain semi-circular headed windows on the ground floor and a semi-circular window set on an ashlar band on the first floor. A low blocking course is present on the projecting cornice. All openings now feature 20th-century glazing.
