Description

The Dowery is a house of uncertain age, possibly featuring fabric from the late 17th century, but it has been significantly altered. The building is two to three storeys high, with a stucco front and a tiled roof. It has a front parapet and three 19th-century casement windows with glazing bars. On the left side, there is a two-storeyed bay topped with a Dutch gable. The entrance features a plain wood doorcase with a small bracketed hood, a six-panelled door, and outer stone pilasters with an arched surround. There is also a hipped dormer. A modern single-storeyed wing is located on the left-hand side. The Dowery, along with Nos 12 to 20 (even), forms a group.
