Description
No. 52 and 54 High Street is an early 19th-century building made of red brick, standing three storeys tall. The facade features three three-light sash windows, which generally do not have glazing bars, and are complemented by moulded pilasters and plain lintels. There is a moulded wood eaves cornice, with modillion brackets on the left-hand portion, and the roof is covered with slates. The ground floor has 19th-century shop fronts that include modern window designs. The building has a curved return side facing Mill Street, which includes one sash window and a doorway with an arched head. This property is included for its group value, as it forms part of a cohesive architectural group with Nos. 42 to 54 High Street.
