Description
The Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal Bridge Number 31, which carries Sutton Lane over the canal, is a canal road bridge built in 1829. It is constructed of blue-brown and blue brick. The bridge features a skew basket arch and has hollow batter to its abutments, which are also curved in plan. There is a stone band at road level, and the brick parapets have square end-piers with recessed stone copings.
