Description
The Manor House is a house dating from 1708, originally built as the vicarage, with 19th-century extensions and alterations. It has pebble-dashed walls, a Kerridge stone-slate roof, and four pebble-dashed chimneys. The building was originally rectangular but is now L-shaped. It is two storeys high with a basement, and the main front is symmetrical with four bays. A band runs along the first floor. The windows are recessed four-pane sashes in simple stone surrounds. A central triangular pediment sits above a datestone reading “WF 1708”, referencing William Foxlowe. A later 19th-century wing provides access to the front door via a flight of steps with wooden balusters. The interior has not been inspected.
