Description

Manor Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now a private house, built around 1860 and attributed to the architect W. Butterfield. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a tiled roof and has two storeys and two bays. It features two-light flush casements with glazing bars and half-brick ring relieving arches above the flat heads. There is blue brick diaper work arranged in a diamond pattern at the first floor level, which continues around the building but is interrupted by the gable-end windows, as there are no first floor windows in the facade.

At the west gable-end, there is a single storey hipped roof porch that contains an oak beaded and studded door with ornate strap hinges, which is said to have come from the 14th century Marton Church as part of a debt settlement. At the rear (south), the main roof extends as a catslide to cover a single storey outshut, while the east roof gable is half hipped. Inside, the farmhouse features four-panel and ledged and battened doors, along with some segmental headed openings and door heads.
