Description
125-127 Buxton Old Road is a former row of three cottages that has been converted into a single house. It dates from the 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed, squared, buff sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings, topped with a Kerridge stone-slate roof and featuring two stone chimneys. The front of the house is asymmetrical and consists of two storeys with five bays. The windows are casements with glazing bars, set in heavy, square-sectioned stone mullions, arranged in two-light configurations. On the left side, there is a blocked doorway that contains a similar one-light window, while the existing doorway is located behind a gabled porch on the right side. Additionally, there is a one-storey 20th-century addition on the right.
