Description

The Chantry House is a 17th-century house located on Buxton Old Road in Disley. It is constructed of white-washed and rendered sandstone rubble with black-painted stone dressings. The roof is covered with buff composition tiles to the front and Kerridge stone slates to the rear, and features three brick chimneys. The house has an asymmetrical 4-bay front. On the left side is a 2-light wooden casement window. To the right, two larger 2-light wooden casements with hood moulds flank the entrance door. Similar windows, without hood moulds, are positioned above. The plain doorcase contains a studded board door with restored iron hinges.
