Description
Sandy Gate Cottage is a building that was originally three cottages but has been converted into two houses. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed from coursed, squared, buff sandstone rubble. The roof is made of Kerridge stone-slate with a stone ridge and features three stone chimneys. The building has a long rectangular plan with two units and some outshuts at the rear. It is two stories tall with a seven-bay front. The windows are 20th-century two-light wooden casements, some of which are set in original rough stone surrounds. The door for No. 119 is located behind a 20th-century gabled porch, while the door for No. 121 is positioned under a lintel. The bay to the right may be a 19th-century addition. The cottage is listed for its group value only.
