Description
Muslin Row is a terrace of five cottages dating from the late 18th century. The cottages are constructed from white-washed coursed sandstone rubble and feature a graded Kerridge stone-slate roof, complete with a stone ridge and five stone ridge chimneys. The structure is a long rectangular block consisting of two-unit cottages, with outshuts at the rear of the two cottages on the left. The windows are 20th-century, 4-pane, 2-light wooden casements set beneath rough stone lintels. The doors are framed and boarded, with plain surrounds. Notably, a hood mould on the left gable has been brought in. This row of cottages was originally built for weavers.
