Description

Lilac Cottage is a former cottage that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and has undergone some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of washed Flemish-bond brick and features a Kerridge stone-slate roof with two brick chimneys. It is two stories high with a three-bay front. On the ground floor, there are two Georgian-style bow-shaped shop windows on either side of a glazed door, which has a three-centred arched brick head above it. Above, there are two 3-light casements with applied lead glazing. The neighboring cottage to the right, which was previously listed as part of this entry, is now listed at Grade II as part of the entry for the adjoining Admiral Rodney Inn.
