Description

Regent House is a building located at 1425 High Street, dating from the 16th to 17th century. It features a timber frame with plaster painted in black and white and stands three storeys tall, built at an angle to the street. The building has 18th-century sash windows and eight original mullioned wood casements, although the leaded lights have been altered. There has been some restoration work done. The shop fronts date from the 19th to 20th century and include modern window designs. Regent House was likely constructed after the Great Fire of 1583. It is part of a group that includes Nos 12, 16, 18A, 18, 20, 20A, and Nos 22 to 28 (even).
