Description
The flight of steps, built around 1860 by Sir Joseph Paxton, is located between the intermediate and lower terrace of the garden in front of the south front of Tatton Hall. Constructed from sandstone, the steps feature a total of 18 steps arranged in groups of six, with half landings between each group. There are three stone blocks on each side of the steps, and at the top, a pair of marble urns with gadrooned bodies adds an elegant touch.
