Description
The pool wall and Triton Fountain, located in the Lower Terrace Garden in front of the south front of Tatton Hall, were created around 1860 by Sir Joseph Paxton. The structure is made of sandstone and marble. It features a central square pool with bowed sides and a moulded surround. At the center of the pool stands a marble sculpture of Triton, depicted with a trail of seaweed over his left shoulder and holding a shell to his lips.
