Description
The Eastern vase on the Lower Terrace Garden in front of the south front of Tatton Hall dates from around 1860 and was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton. It is made of cement and stands on a square plinth with a moulded base. The vase features a fluted wine-glass base, a knopped stem, and a wide lower body with gadrooning, as well as egg and dart and beading details at the lip. It has a copper lining and is one of a pair, with the other Eastern vase located on the opposite side of the Triton Fountain.
