Description
Basford Bridge Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and rendered brick, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has a two-cell plan, likely originally designed with a baffle entry. The entrance front has a doorway located to the right of centre. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light casement windows from the 19th century, and the first floor has two similar windows. To the left of the entrance is a 19th-century lean-to. At the rear, there is a lean-to outshut and seven by four cells of uneven framing. Inside, the parlour has chamfered ceiling beams, and there are similarly chamfered minor beams that are all end-stopped. The other ground floor room features similar principal beams.
