Description
Weston House, formerly a vicarage, was built in 1841 as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed of red Flemish bond brick with ashlar dressings and features two storeys with an attic. The entrance front includes a slightly projecting gabled wing on the left and a gabled porch on the right that slightly projects as well. The porch has a 4-centred archway with an ashlar surround and a Tudor hood-mould. The gable of the porch is adorned with ashlar kneelers, coping, and diamond-shaped finials on the sides and apex. The diamond-shaped datestone with a moulded surround is set into the gable.
The left wing has a three-light casement window on the ground floor, which includes two mullions and one transom, topped with a Tudor hood-mould and an ashlar sill. A similar but shorter window is located on the first floor. An attic window is situated in the gable, featuring ashlar springers and coping similar to those on the porch. To the right of the porch is a canted ground floor bay window with a lower body of brick and an ashlar upper body, topped with a lead roof. Above this bay window, there is a three-light window on the first floor with a Tudor hood-mould and a gablet above, also featuring ashlar springers, coping, and finials.
A staircase window is located at the far right, starting at the mezzanine level and extending through the first floor. To the right of the main block is a slightly recessed service court. The left-hand return has three bays arranged symmetrically. The central bay features cross windows on both the ground and first floors, while slightly projecting gabled wings on either side have canted ground floor bay windows with ashlar upper bodies. These wings also have three-light central windows with single-light windows at the corners. The first floor has three-light windows and single-light attic windows. Both gables are similarly adorned with ashlar kneelers, coping, and finials as seen on the entrance front. Additionally, there are two groups of three diamond-shaped chimney flues symmetrically placed behind the ridge of the roof.
