Description
Gentian Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century. It is timber framed with rendered infill and has a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high. On the road front, there is a projecting lean-to on the right side. The cottage has a rendered plinth that runs along the entire structure. The lean-to features five by three cells of uneven small framing, while the main body of the house to the left has a similar arrangement and includes a 2-light 20th-century casement window. The upper section of the house has had a row of taller cells added. Both gable ends have applied planks that simulate timber framing. The left gable end features a gable truss with a cambered tie beam that supports queen posts and a V-strut at the apex.
