Description

1 and 3 Princess Street are a late 18th-century house, now used as a pair of shops. The building has a double-pile plan with a rear wing. It is three storeys high and has a three-window front. Shop fronts have been inserted into the ground floor, the one on the left dating to the late 19th century, with a panelled architrave and paired brackets to the cornice over the fascia. The windows above are tripartite sashes with segmentally-arched heads, with the central window space blank. The attic storey has two renewed windows in original openings, and one 12-pane sash window, all with flat-arched gauged brick heads. A small additional window has been inserted at second-floor level. The building has a moulded wood eaves cornice and end wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
