Description
Yew Tree House is a house dated 1711, with 20th-century alterations and additions at the rear. It is constructed of coursed squared buff sandstone rubble and features a Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge, and two gable plastered chimneys. The building is 1½ stories high and has a symmetrical three-bay south front. There is a projecting rubble band at the first floor. The end bays contain 20th-century three-light casement windows with applied lead glazing below, while above them are four-light tall chamfered stone-mullioned windows in gabled half dormers. The central door, located under a rough stone lintel, has a date plaque reading "THD 1711" above it. A 20th-century addition at the rear is in keeping with the original design.
